Naples Italy Tourist Information and Travel Guide

The National Archaeological Museum (Museo Archeologico Nazionale) in Naples Italy is one of the country's leading tourist attractions.  It contains a large volume of sculptures, paintings and artifacts that were recovered from Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Pompeii and Herculaneum were frozen in time after the eruption of nearby Mount Vesuvius in AD 79.  Artifacts continue to be recovered from those locations today.
